You Asked, I Answered
It’s important my clients feel fully informed and confident when working with me. That’s why I've made a list of frequently asked questions along with my answers. Browse through the information below, and if you have a question that isn’t included here, feel free to reach out to me today.
Do you take insurance?
I am out of network with all insurance providers. I provide statements that can be submitted for out of network benefits with your insurance provider.
What is the fee for sessions?
Weekly individual sessions are $165.00.
Parent and family sessions are $195.00.
For children, there is a one-time, parent-only, two-hour intake session that is $355.00.
How long is a session?
Individual sessions are 45-50 minutes.
Family and parent sessions are 1 hour in length.
How do I get feedback about my child’s progress in therapy?
I do not discuss the child with the parent at or during the child’s session time. I am available for scheduled 15-minute check-in calls with parents free of charge if there is something the parent wishes to report or a brief question about a child’s progress. Parents can schedule a 1-hour parent session anytime and I will schedule these sessions regularly to update, involve, and support parents.
How does the process begin with children?
When you call me, I will get a brief summary of why you are seeking counseling for your child. Then we will schedule a weekly individual session time for your child. I will see your child for 2-3 sessions before we will meet for the parent-only 2-hour intake to get a thorough history, detailed description of the presenting problem and symptoms, your perspective, and goals for treatment.
How long is a course of therapy?
Research shows there is not prescribed length for therapeutic change to occur. It depends on the client’s readiness, motivation, and willingness to change. It also depends on the history of the problem and present circumstances of the client. In the case of children, length of treatment is largely influenced by the surrounding family system and their involvement and supportiveness. Research also has indicated that at least 20 therapy sessions is optimal for change to be lasting.
